Accenture set to spread more in India


The worldwide downturn is on the verge of end, its terrible brunt has started declining already and all these factors have emboldened the indigenous IT sector of India, it is hoping for betterment yet again hence. Well, indigenous IT sector of India is not alone, several global players are getting invigorated also and they are planning to expand services in the country to a greater extent before long.

One of them is surely Accenture, internationally renowned technology and consultancy giant, and as per the company’s latest assertion, it is going to add in the region of 8,000 people in India by the end of next year. This approach will take its total employee base in the country to 50,000. On the word of Accenture Chairman and Chief Executive Officer William D Green (he was speaking the sidelines of the India Economic Summit) the company is 42,000 right now and there is a hope that it will be almost 50,000 by the end of 2010.

Accenture, IndiaWilliam D Green, while indicating recuperation from the global downturn, stated the company will keep on focusing in India, especially in the areas of analytics. In accordance with the CEO, Accenture's focus in India is going to be the analytics space, which will help the clients convert information into insights for better yields.

He also said, the company considers that analytics is going to be an imperative trend that its customers are going to demand from the parent company and is also confident that India is going to be a great place for development. It is apparent Accenture having annual revenue of $21.58 billion for fiscal 2009 will fortify its focus on clients in pharmaceutical, telecommunications and energy in the country.
