Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani : complete, pleasing entertainer
If you are planning to get entertained this weekend in the main and devote maximum time to the family, try to have the new offer from Raj Kumar Santoshi. The veteran director of Bollywood, known for his hard-hitting movies than anything else, is in the theater, at this time, with a new film – Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. What can you have in it then? Why are you being suggested in this way? Well, this writer is neither a part of the film’s crew nor a part of its marketing team but is merely informing others of the possible modes of entertainment at this weekend.
Don’t you want to get entertained? Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani – is a perfect epitome of a Bollywood masala film – you can get emotions, idiotic scuffles, forced humor sand above all, comedy. Full entertainment seems to be the target of the director. Another factor that goes in its favor is Pritam's music, who sings loudly and forcefully a couple of lilting tracks.
The film revolves around Prem [Ranbir Kapoor], whose life is very simple, be happy, make others happy. A simple case of false identity leads Prem to nearly kidnap Jenny [Katrina Kaif], who was brought up by apathetic and uncaring foster parents. Prem falls in love with Jenny, but realizes gradually that Jenny is in love with someone else [Upen Patel], the son of a scheming politician [Govind Namdeo]. Prem decides to sacrifice his love and get the lovers married. So does this film deal with a noble sacrifice? Yes, you can have it also but everything, from the start to end, is wrapped under the cover of entertainment and hence, you can’t get bored.
Overall, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani entertains a good deal. The business prospects appear to be bright, you can go and have it easily.
Are you aficionado of serious films of Akira Kurosawa or Bernardo Bertolucci? It’s not your cup of tea then!
