Now, anti-flu suits for men

London, Oct 7 : A Japanese clothing firm is said to have created a mens suit that is specially treated to ward off the flu virus.

Haruyama Trading Co, a leading menswear maker, has revealed that the suit is coated with the chemical titanium dioxide, which reacts with light to break down and kill the virus, reports the Daily Express.

The chemical is commonly used in cosmetics and toothpaste.

Haruyama spent nearly a year developing the suit, which costs 52,290 yen, amid rising worries about the outbreak of swine flu.

The suit will go on sale in Japan on October 8, and the company has said it is also considering making a similar suit for women.

The World Health Organisation has reported more than 340,000 confirmed cases of H1N1 worldwide, and more than 4,100 deaths.
