Hindutva crowns BJP in Madhya Pradesh

Who can claim the victory of BJP in the recently held elections in the state of Madhya Pradesh? There are, in fact, many who will dedicate this victory to the strong organization and effective poll machinery (?) of BJP blessed by the Sangh Parivar and the dwindling Congress. The same people are found to point towards other factors like the dismal failure of BSP (self-appointed messiah of Dalits or the low castes within Hinduism), internal factions within the Congress and its bankruptcy of leadership. It’s true that Arjun Singh is on the verge of the end of his political career and none of the present Congress leaders dares to have his persona, intelligence and clout that once made him the undisputed leader of the state of Madhya Pradesh. Where are those ideologues who once thought that the gradual introduction of democratic and socialist principles would wipe out feudalism from India? Even in this year of 2008 (after almost 60 years of Indian republic) you can find out the same feudalistic mindset but in a different manner. Once upon a time there were the local landlords who used to take a walk along with toadies and nowadays you can find the VIPs who flaunt their security men. Can you imagine the situation? India couldn’t protect its citizens in Mumbai due to lack of security but has the time and energy to use inappropriately security for undeserving persons. Read the rest of this story »

There is no doubt in it that the India-Pakistan relation is at nadir and when this article is being written, a tension is mounting at the border. This is a very difficult question and none has any straight answer at this hour although face-off is growing. Read the rest of this story »

Can a leopard ever change its tawny coat with black spots? This question should be asked to the Government of India which is badly busy in dealing with the Beelzebub hailing from Pakistan. It seems that India, to show the world its humanitarian gestures (even while dealing with a terrorist), is forgetting the true character of Pakistan. It is the land which (to satisfy its own bloody aspirations) conducted a daring attack on Kashmir when the entire Indian subcontinent was experiencing the human holocaust and the other horrors of partition. In the subsequent decades the same activities have been enhanced and the rise of the Jihadi terrorism has added fuel to the fire. The last attack on Mumbai can be regarded as the bloodiest specimen of the violent intentions of Pakistan on the Indian soil. Read the rest of this story »

It’s winter in Delhi. Enjoy fogs!

It’s the age-old story for Delhi again. The national capital of India, in each year, comes underneath the controlling influence of fogs and there has been no difference in this year too. Delhi has again been occupied by dense fogs and the greatest casualty (as usual) is the air travel or aviation. Only on Monday two domestic flights, including one international flight, were cancelled and one flight has been delayed. Read the rest of this story »

Strike – festival of masses

In the midst of inflexible political ideologies throughout the globe the position of India is somewhat bleak. The only reason is that India (from the very beginning) has not submitted itself totally to any specific ideological or power bloc. It was never a part of the erstwhile socialist bloc under the aegis of USSR or the capitalist bloc under USA. On the contrary it emphasized the setting up of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) whose members would consider themselves not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc and it was predominantly the brainchild of the first Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. But this has not deterred the intrusion of different schools of political thoughts in the country like Marxism. Read the rest of this story »

It seems that Pakistan’s woes are unending and surely it will be pushed to a definite corner of the global community if the international pressure continues in this manner. While India and the United States of America were most vocal against the terrorist or Jihadi bases in the country and the support of a section of the Pakistani authority to that, Britain has now joined the bandwagon. If we take the recent visit of British Prime Minister Gordon Brown literally, it becomes obvious that Britain is deeply worried of the escalation in the potency of Jihadi terrorism and the expansion of its nefarious designs in the global plane. The recent Mumbai terror attack indicates how much their penetration and strength to accomplish objective can be. Read the rest of this story »

What will be the fallout of the terror attack on Mumbai on 26/11? This is perhaps the most important question in the Indian subcontinent and none has any straight answer at present. It is found each involved party is trying to solve the state of affairs in its own way though it seems everybody is groping in darkness. While the Indian government (in a united tone in spite of internal dissonances) is trying to put all pressures on the Pakistani government, the later is trying to deny any such involvement and is busy in blaming the non-state actors for the heinous crime on 26/11.
