Wikipedia the free encyclopedia getting a new look
Wikipedia operated by the Wikimedia Foundation needs no introduction. Vector a new skin will dress up Wikipedia pretty soon, but that’s not all. There are many changes that will happen on Wikipedia, gradually. This is just the beginning.
Wikipedia is making changes, to make it easier for their users. Wikipedia will have a new skin called vector with an improved navigation system. Link wizard a new features will easily allow users to add link to other pages on Wikipedia or other Wiki projects.
For better user experience the search functionality have been improved. Searching on Wikipedia will be more powerful, faster and accurate. Find and replace function has been added. Page formatting is now more intuitive and simpler. Table wizard has been introduced to help users easily create tables.
In the new Wikipedia design more emphasis has been given on navigation for editing and reading pages. Tabs on top of page now reveal if you are on a discussion page or reading the page or editing the page.
According to Wikipedia the changes are just the beginning there are many updates waiting to happen some being tested, some developed and some deployed. Users who what to have a glimpse of new things happening at Wikipedia can always check their prototype site.
If you are not happy with the new features in Wikipedia it can be turned off by logging into your account then click the new link then click on the “Take Me Back” section to turn off the new feature.
