Which came first Chicken or Egg? Chicken, claims scientists
Everyone knows this question ‘What came first chicken or egg?’ But no one knew the answer so far. But scientists now claim that it was the chicken that came first.
According to Scientists from the University of Sheffield and University of Warwick OC-17 (Protein Ovocleidin) plays an important factor when eggshells are formed. Pregnant hen ovaries contain this OC-17 protein. So scientifically without the chicken there could be no eggs.
But there is always a ‘but’, the research however, does not prove how the chicken came into existence in the first place. Back to square one.

According to lead scientist Dr Colin Freeman of Sheffield University it was long before suspected that it was the egg that came first but now it can be scientifically proven that the chicken came first.
The newly discovered Protein Ovocleidin (OC-17) acts as a catalyst which start the calcium carbonate conversion in the chicken’s body to form calcite crystals. These calcite crystals make the hard portion of the shell that abode the yolk along with fluids that protect and help the chick to develop.
Logically in layman terms, the chicken came first because if the egg came first you need something to hatch it. Where as if the chicken came first it can give eggs and the process continues.
So the next time you face this question, you know the answer, its scientifically proven.
