Women’s eating habits linked to baby’s gender
Mother’s diet habit around the time of conception, determines the sex of the baby. Research conducted in London by University of Exeter and Oxford, have found that it’s not just the X and the Y chromosome that acts as the deciding factor for the baby gender, but also associated with the eating habits of the women before pregnancy.
The result of this study does unlock the missing puzzle of higher female birthrate, in Britain and the United States.
The result published in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B: Biological Sciences is based on the dietary habits of 740 pregnant women (first child). The data collected may not be reliable as it is a collection of self reported eating habit, but the result of the study does explain the reason for the decline in male gender, especially in modern counties where women’s eating habits have changed.
High glucose level support growth of male embryos while female embryos growth depends on low glucose levels. Women who have high calories intake, healthy and nutritious, rich in Vitamins, calcium, potassium, or simply a breakfast of cereal on a regular basis, have high probability of giving birth to a boy.
Though the study does not guarantee that the baby gender can be pre-determined by the women’s eating habits, but the chances are higher.
