Brit girl with rare skin condition; skin shed off 14 times a day
Annabelle Whitehouse was born with ichthyosis a rare genetic condition that makes the skin dry, scaly, thickened or flaky skin Annabelle’s parents Paul and Sonia have disclosed that their daughter’s skin shed off almost 14 times a day.
According to her parents when Annabelle was born with thick armoured skin layer they know something was not right. Annabelle’s skin need to be moisturised and bandaged all the time. She can barely show off her hands and her face. Cream need to be applied every half hour, so that the skin does not harden or crack open.
It is really hard for the family and the little girl who has to go through the entire ordeal. Mrs. Whitehouse revealed that there are times when people unknowingly pass on harsh comments because of the way they keep their daughter bandaged. But it she knows it is for her daughters protection.
Ichthyosis is mostly genetic skin disorder which can be life-threatening. More than 95% of the cases are ichthyosis vulgaris the most common type of ichthyosis.
