Reduce stroke risk eat dark chocolates
Good news for chocolate lovers. Consuming dark chocolates protects the brain and helps in preventing brain damages from a stroke.
Epicatechin is a compound that shields the nerve cells during stroke and prevents brain damages. This compound is found in dark chocolates.

Researches performed some tests on mice. The mice were given dose of epicatechin and then blood supply to the brain was cut off to induce a stroke.
The researchers found the mice that were given epicatechin showed less brain damages as compared with those who were not.
According to researchers epicatechin is better method for stroke treatment than methods that are being currently used.
Associate Professor Sylvain Doré from America's Johns Hopkins University said the “epicatechin effect is time bond. The compound has no effect and does not provide protection 6 hours after a stroke.”
