New mantra to face up to and trounce obesity
Let’s begin with the basic definition of obesity; it may make anyone comprehend the context easily. Obesity or more than average fitness is basically a medical condition in which additional body fat has accumulated to the extent that it may have an adverse effect on health, leading to reduced life expectancy and/or increased health problems. How can the same extra load be shed? This is the most important question to scores of people, these days, as corpulence is synonymous to bad health and may also lead to several diseases.
What do people do normally? Either they do aerobics, yoga or go to gyms in close proximity. Well, many people are found to think that curtailment of diets may provide a good defence, even though this may give rise to another series of problems. But, you can steer clear of all these yet can reduce obesity all at once. All you have to do is to opt for higher intake of dairy products while on a reduced calorie diet; this can be your best weapon to face up to obesity.
These views have been brought to the fore by lead researcher Wendy Chan She Ping Delfos, from Curtin University of Technology, who during the study did put side by side three serves of dairy food such as yoghurt, cheese and low fat milk, with five serves within a lower calorie diet prescribed to overweight participants over 12-weeks. What was the end result? It was perceived that there was greater weight loss and reduced risk factors for heart disease and diabetes.
As per researchers, consumption of five serves of dairy per day result in more loss of weight and abdominal fat, and people can also have lower blood pressure.
In accordance with Dr Chan She Ping Delfos, contrary to the popular belief, as shown by the study, people can really benefit by increasing the amount of dairy they consume beyond the normally-recommended three daily serves, provided that during the weight loss period total energy intake is less than their requirements.
