Diabetes risk not linked with eggs

A new study has revealed that type 2 diabetes is not linked to eating eggs. Consuming eggs daily will not in any way increase the risk of diabetes. This could come as a relief to many egg eaters, or would it well even if the study pointed out that eggs were harmful, would it have stopped people from eating eggs?

For the study around 4000 older men and women were selected. Their egg eating habits were closely monitored. There were some who ate eggs daily and some occasionally. All the details were then used to find association between egg eating and diabetes. The good news is that researchers failed to find one.

Diabetes risk not linked with eggs

For another cardiovascular health study 3,898 Americans of the age 65 and over were observed for a period of 11 years. The study was to determine the net effects for egg consumption with risk of type 2 diabetes. Researchers found that 313 people of the 3,898 developed type 2 diabetes mainly because of poor diet; less physical activity and cause they were overweight.

Though no link was found between type 2 diabetes and eating eggs, but some of those who consumed eggs daily were found to be at increase type 2 diabetes risk. However since not all turned out to be diabetic study suggested that ‘chance’ could have played a factor.

There are other studies that do not agree with the current study. One of such studies found that consuming 7 or more eggs a week can increase risk of diabetes. If the new study is to be compared participants consumed less than one egg per day. This clearly indicates that there were not enough participants who could fit into these criteria.

Anyway you can still continue eating eggs, daily, and just to keep you happy, as per new study eggs does not increase the risk of type 2 diabetes.
