Melbourne, October 25 : Cheating partners have a cause to worry now, for experts can retrieve secret text messages from mobile phones five years after they were deleted.
EmailThe XRY forensic device can dig out personal information from old SIM cards for long-erased nuggets.
Kim Khor, director of Khor Wills & Associates, handles mobile forensics for Australian police, private companies and spouse doubting individuals, and associate Gary Coulthart explained how the 25,000-dollar device worked.
"Often when messages are deleted from the handset they are sent to the SIM card, and as long as there is space on the card they are still accessible to a hacker,' the Daily Telegraph quoted Coulthart as saying.
Khor also pointed out the issue of trust with the use of mobile phones, adding: "For an individual there is a real issue of fraud and identity theft. Having bank details on our phones is quite typical as well, and that is very dangerous.'
