A study conducted by British researchers from the universities Of Liverpool and Stirling has revealed that men with scars on their face attract the opposite sex more than men without scars.

220 individual took part in the study to determine the persons perceived social worth. The male participants were asked to look at pictures of women and rate them. Some of the women pictures were manipulated to have scars on their faces.

On the other hand the female participants were given the task of rating the male photographs, some of which were manipulated having facial scars.

Based on the rating given by men and the women participants researchers found that men seemed to be less attracted to women with scar on their faces, women however found men with scars more attractive.

The result of the study may come as a surprise to men who have scars on their face and are impatient in getting the scars treated as soon as possible. Though the exact reason as to why women find men with scars more attractive is still unknown.

Researchers believe that scars normally associated with violence may be a reason that sends signal to women that the man has above average masculinity or a risk taking personality.
