A study published online in the International Journal of Obesity has found a unique way of losing weight. According to the study overweight adults who consume at least 2 eggs for breakfast not only feel more active through out the day, but also lose weight.

The study was conducted by Nikhil V Dhurandhar, PhD, an associate professor in the laboratory of obesity and infection at Pennington Biomedical Research Center. According to Nikhil overweight adults can reduce up to 65% weight by simply eating 2 eggs every morning.

Those who consume eggs for breakfast felt more energetic and ate less in the successive meals there by helped in reducing weight. Previous studies have also supported this fact that eggs can be included in reduced calorie diet.

For the study one group consumed bagel breakfast while the other consumed 2 eggs for breakfast and they were monitored for 2 months. The calories intake was similar for the egg and the bagel breakfast. It was found that those who ate 2 eggs every morning reduced their BMI by 61%.

The researchers also took into account the blood lipids factor and found that triglycerides and cholesterol lever were well under control for both the groups. This concludes that egg can be included in a reduced calorie diet without any significant risk of cardiovascular diseases.
