A new search concept called Glue Pages has been announced by Yahoo India, Thursday. The results from the Glue Pages (beta) would feature images, videos and text on a single page.

The three in one search results can only be seen on the Yahoo India site. During the Beta test phase only selected keywords would return the results from categories such as Travel, Finance, Sports, Heath, Entertainment and Technology. Yahoo India search result page would also display the Glue Pages beside the normal results.

The Glue Pages were designed to save time and a new way of serving content on a broader level. Results are combined from Yahoo Heath, Yahoo Answers, Yahoo Groups, blogs and Howstuffworks which gives users better related results, saves time by eliminating additional searches that normally a user would have guess.

Glue Pages beta was selected to run on the Yahoo India site because of the geographical factor. India being an important market and Yahoo already having its research and development base in India was an added advantage as developers are available to create applications around the Yahoo technology. Moreover with a growing user base and copious local contents Yahoo India was a perfect domain for the test.

Glue pages were developed after an intensive study of user behavioral pattern which found that the users are good with navigational searches leaving a lot of scope for new development and innovation.

Glue Pages will be available for other countries after the test phase if successful.
